The “Birthday” event allows you to accrue additional bonuses or a birthday discount every year. The event is guided by the data in the "Birthday" system field in the customer card.
When the block is opened, the settings for assigning discounts and accruing bonuses appear. Let's consider all the settings one after another.
The first option "Triggering period" - where it is necessary to specify when the event will be triggered and the corresponding privilege will be assigned to the Loyalty Program participant. Several preset options are available for selection: “On the day of the event”, the ability to select triggering several days before (1, 3, 5 or 15 days before) and the ability to set manually the number of days / months.
Let’s consider the option of assigning a birthday discount to a customer.
Below the selection of privilege there are settings where you can specify the amount of the discount provided and the validity period of this discount. The discount amount is set manually. The validity period can also be set manually, but preset options are also available (10, 15, 20 days and 1 month).
Note
The validity period of the discount is calculated from the date the event is triggered.
Below is a switch that, when activated, will allow to apply a discount on products at promotional prices . Promotional products - products with an additional discount, a one-time discount or products at a promotional price.
In the "Discount validity" option there are two options to choose from: "For one order within the validity period" and "For all orders within the validity period" - the name of the option and options speaks for itself - choose whether to apply the discount to all customer’s orders within the discount validity period or once, only to one order that was placed within the validity period.
Let’s consider the option of accruing birthday bonuses.
Below the selected privilege there are settings where you can specify the number of bonuses being accrued and the burnout time of accrued bonuses. The burnout time can be set manually or selected from preset options (7, 10, 14 days and 1 month). Please note that the accrual and activation of bonuses occurs immediately after the event is triggered.
Note
The bonuses burnout time is calculated from the date of the event triggering (and, accordingly, from the date of accrual).
At the bottom of the block, below all options and settings, there is a switch that activates / deactivates the event.
Please note that the "Birthday" event will be triggered even if the date of birth of the customer (participant of the Program) was specified after the triggering period specified in the settings, but before the birthday itself. The customer's date of birth is checked when registering in the Program and when editing the date of birth in the customer card (Program participant).
Important!
The "Birthday" event is checked that it can be triggered only once in a calendar year. That is, with frequent editing of the date of birth, the customer still will not receive more event privileges than once a year.
