How to create an Email mailing?

When opening the "Mailing" block, there will be a choice between "SMS" and "Email". The "Email" option is selected by default.

How to set up who the sender of the mailing will be?

In the "From" field select the address from which the mailing will be carried out. There are three options to select from:

  • Customer manager — the mailing will be sent from the address of the manager to whom the customer is assigned.
  • Customer store — emails will come from the store in which the customer is registered.
  • Additional addresses

Note

Mailing is sent via the main “email” field from the customer card.

How to add additional addresses?

Additional addresses can be added in the "Mail" section in the system settings.

To go there you can click on the "Add a new address" hint link above the sender selection field.

How to specify the subject of the email?

The subject is specified in the field of the same name. There are several recommendations for the subject that should be followed not to be spam filtered by mail providers:

  • Use not more than 40-60 characters
  • Do not write the whole word or sentence in capital letters
  • Do not put more than one punctuation mark in a row

What is a preheader?

Preheader is the text that is displayed in the mail service after the subject of the email. Preheader is invisible in the body of the email. The customer will see the entered text only in the list of emails.

Some mail services (such as mail.ru) do not support the preheader displaying.

How to personalize the subject of email and the preheader?

You can add a twig variable to the subject of the email and the preheader to personalize the text. For example:

New order on the site {{ customer.lastOrder.number }}, where {{ customer.lastOrder.number }} is the number of the customer's latest order.

You can insert preset variables into the fields from the personalization pop in window which opens by clicking on the icon with two curly brackets to the left of the field. This icon appears only when the field is active (you clicked on the field).

What data can be displayed in the email subject and preheader?

In the fields you can display parameters of the latest or first order but not of the canceled one. Canceled orders will be ignored. You can get familiar with the available fields in the corresponding article.

In the fields you can also enter data from the customer card. All available data is specified in the article at the link.

How to create an email template?

The template is created using the email designer which allows you to create adaptive email templates without knowledge of HTML using a visual block editor.

When you open the "Mailing" block you will see the "Create email" button which will take you to the editor when you click it.

Important!

Do not forget to provide a link to unsubscribe from the mailing. For example: <unsubscribe>Unsubscribe from the mailing</unsubscribe>

How to add products from a catalog to an email template?

When creating a template the designer contains the "Product" block.

When adding a block you need to select products from the catalog uploaded to the system.

Note

We recommend adding products in a multiple of 2 or 3. For example, 3 or 6. This will look neat without gaps in the rows.

Please note that the number of characters in the product name is limited by the following limits:

  • 4 products per line - 30 characters
  • 3 products per line - 35 characters
  • 2 products and less - 50 characters

If the limit is exceeded, the name is truncated at the nearest space between words.

How to customize a block with products?

When you click on a block with products, a settings panel will open on the left where you can configure the orientation of the product card as well as its composition (display of information).

How to open a preview or send a test email?

After an email template is created, two buttons “Test Send” and “Preview” are displayed next to the template editing button.

The preview shows what your template will look like in the desktop and mobile version of the mail service.

Test sending will allow you to check the deliverability, visually view the layout in the mailbox, and check the substitution of variable values.

What address will the test email go to?

When you click on the test sending button, a pop in window will open where you should insert an email address. You can specify several addresses.

Sending a test letter is carried out from the main sender address set up in the settings to the addresses that were specified in the pop in window.

Important!

Test letters are also charged and reduce the balance of the purchased package of emails.

How to create an SMS mailing?

To create an SMS mailing, you need to switch to SMS when opening the "Mailing" block.

Important!

When switching the action type (Email/SMS) data loss will occur. For example, if you fill in the fields for Email and then switch without saving to SMS, the data will be lost.

What can be specified in the text of an SMS message?

In the template, in addition to plain text, you can use Twig.

If variables are used, a warning will be displayed under the text area stating that the number of characters and parts of the SMS are calculated approximately, since the value of the variable can contain any number of characters.

How many characters are in one part of an SMS message?

A counter is displayed below the text area for entering the text template, which shows the number of characters and the number of SMS parts into which the template to be sent will be divided. The counter takes into account the language of the text being entered and, based on it, calculates the number of characters required to split the SMS message into parts.

The length of one SMS message is:

  • In Cyrillic - 70 characters
  • In Latin - 160 characters

If the number of characters in the template exceeds the number of characters in one message, then 3 characters in the case of Cyrillic and 7 characters in the case of Latin are allocated for message binding. That is, for example, a template with a length of 100 characters in Cyrillic will be divided into 2 SMS messages with a length of 67 and 33 characters. If the template is in Latin, then if the number is 200 characters, the template will be divided into 2 SMS messages with a length of 153 and 47 characters.

Important!

If the message is written in Latin and at least one Cyrillic character is present, the entire message will be considered Cyrillic.

Important!

After SMS-mailing is started, the funds on the balance are taken into account. If they run out after the start of sending, the mailing is interrupted with an error and a notification to the system administrators about the need to replenish the balance. After the balance is replenished the mailing can be resumed.
