In this block a segment is selected to interact with the rule. The segment type (static / dynamic) and segment coverage.
A number is displayed next to the “Target segments” heading. This is the total number of customers for the selected segments. The segment coverage and the total number of target customers may differ due to the fact that customers in the selected segment may be unsubscribed; they may not have an e-mail address, or they did not pass contact information validation.
Next to the ”Customer segment” heading, the total number of customers for which the rule will be executed is displayed. The total number is calculated taking into account the excluded segments and the specifics of the formation of target segments described above. The formula for calculating the total number of customers for which the rule will be executed is as follows: "Target segments" - "Excluded segments" = "Customer segment"
.
Note
If no segment has been selected, then the rule will be applied to all customers.
At the top of the segments block, a slider with two positions is displayed: "All" and "Any of". This slider sets how the conditions for segments are applied:
- "All" - actions will be generated only for customers who fall into all selected segments.
- "Any of" - for customers who have fallen into at least one of the selected segments.
For example, two target segments are selected: the first is customers who made a purchase in the winter, and the second is customers who made a purchase in the summer. If you select both segments and set the switch to the "All'' position, then the rule will include customers who made purchases in winter and summer. If you set the switch to the "Any of'' position, then the rule will include customers who made purchases in winter or summer, or both in winter and summer.
Excluded segments
Excluded segments in rules work in the same way as excluded segments that are used when generating a mailing.
The "Excluded segments" block contains a list of segments for excluding customers from the mailing by the rule. Customers from excluded segments do not participate in the rule and no messages will be sent to them. For example, excluded segments can be applied if the rule needs to be executed across the entire database, except for customers with a low average order value.
